The Solar4Future+ International Project Meeting, held in Spain on 27–28 January 2026
Solar4Future+ partners gathered in Spain for an international project meeting, bringing together representatives from the participating organisations to review the project’s progress and strengthen cooperation. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the implementation of project activities, share experiences and outcomes from the partner countries, and coordinate the next stages of the project. Partners also reflected on the development and testing of the project’s educational resources, including the Community Science Projects and Solar Curriculum, while discussing ways to maximise their impact and ensure their continued use in schools and communities.
Solar Energy Challenges: Students Developing Local Solutions
The Solar Energy Challenges brought students from Solar4Future+ partner schools together to investigate solar energy-related challenges in their local communities and develop creative solutions. Each school selected a team to represent them at the final stage of the competition, giving students the opportunity to present their ideas, exchange experiences with their international peers and demonstrate their creativity and problem-solving skills. The final event took place in Türkiye in May 2026, where teams competed by presenting their solutions to the challenges they had identified. Following the final presentations, the Romanian team was declared the overall winner. The challenge demonstrated how young people can use knowledge, teamwork and innovation to address real-world sustainability issues in their communities.
Solar Curriculum Testing in Partner Schools
As part of the Solar4Future+ project, the Solar Curriculum was tested by participating partner schools to evaluate its suitability and effectiveness in supporting solar energy and sustainability education. Teachers and students implemented the curriculum activities in their local educational settings, providing practical feedback on the learning materials, activities and overall learning experience. The testing phase helped project partners understand how the curriculum works across different educational contexts and provided valuable insights for improving and finalising the resources for future use by schools.
Online Evaluation Meeting on Community Science Projects Testing
Following the testing of the Community Science Projects (CSP) Training Toolkit, Solar4Future+ partners from the participating countries met online to evaluate the testing process and exchange their experiences. Partners discussed the feedback received from teachers and students, shared examples from their schools and identified both successful approaches and challenges encountered during implementation. The meeting provided an important opportunity for international knowledge exchange and helped partners refine the CSP materials based on the real experiences of participating schools.
Community Science Projects Testing in Partner Schools
☀️ During March and April 2025, all partner schools participating in Solar4Future+ tested the newly developed Community Science Projects (CSP) Training Toolkit. Students and teachers explored the proposed activities and resources within their own school environments and provided feedback on their practical application, clarity and relevance. The testing phase allowed partners to gather experiences from different countries and educational contexts, helping to identify strengths and areas for improvement and ensuring that the final toolkit would be practical, engaging and suitable for wider use in schools.
Solar4Future+ Develops the Community Science Projects (CSP) Training Toolkit
As part of the Solar4Future+ project, partners collaborated on the development of a Community Science Projects (CSP) Training Toolkit designed to support teachers and students in developing and implementing community-based science projects. The toolkit provides practical guidance, educational resources and activities that encourage students to connect scientific learning with real challenges in their local communities. Through this approach, Solar4Future+ aims to strengthen students’ scientific thinking, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills while encouraging them to become active participants in addressing sustainability and environmental challenges.

POWERING THE FUTURE: SOLAR ENERGY TRANSFORMS EUROPEAN EDUCATION
An Erasmus+ project that brings together schools across Europe to build a responsible, creative generation prepared for climate challenges.
The activity ‘Solar Energy — A Source of Electricity” in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering at the “Vasile Alecsandri’ University of Bacau.
As part of the Erasmus+ Project ‘#Solar4Future+’, during the “Alternative Schooling’ (Scoala Altfel) week, we organized the activity ‘Solar Energy — A Source of Electricity” in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering at the “Vasile Alecsandri’ University of Bacau. On December 15, 2025, in the Unconventional Energy Laboratory, 12th-grade students (classes 12D and 12G), coordinated by Prof. Alexa Ozana and Prof.Bejinariu Irina Laura, received the latest insights regarding solar panel types, their operation, and long-term energy efficiency. The session was led by Associate Professor
Roxana Grigore, PhD Eng., and Lecturers loan Viorel Banu, PhD Eng., and Sorin Gabriel Vernica, PhD Eng.
International Mobility of Students in Corato, Italy 🇮🇹, which took place from October 20th to 22nd, has successfully concluded!
☀️ During the event, students and teachers from all six countries involved in the project participated in testing the lesson plan “Artistic Expression through Solar Energy”, developed by the project partners from I.I.S.S. Federico II Stupor Mundi.
Students and teachers had the chance to try their hand at developing botanical photographs on paper and fabric using the Anthotype and Cyanotype methods. 🍃☀️
The event concluded with a management meeting and a very insightful presentation by a Solar Energy expert, engineer Chiara Ostendi. 🔬☀️
A heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated teachers and students from I.I.S.S. Federico II Stupor Mundi for their warm hospitality, engaging workshops, and excellent presentations that helped everyone explore both the theoretical and practical sides of botanical photography! ☀️
Teachers in Split Join Inspiring Workshop Led by Czech Partner
In Split, a lively dissemination activity was organized by the Czech partner, bringing together elementary school teachers and geography teachers from the county council. Around 30 teachers took part, exchanging ideas and learning about new approaches that can enrich their classrooms. The event created a warm atmosphere of collaboration and inspiration, leaving participants motivated to put fresh ideas into practice.
#Solar4Future+ Teacher Training: International Testing
From August 26–28, the #Solar4Future project team gathered in Riga for the Teacher Training: International Testing.
☀️Participants had the opportunity to attend a presentation on solar energy by an RTU expert, explore the university campus, and visit the photovoltaic panels installed on the rooftop.
☀️Each partner institution also shared their adjusted lesson plans, chapters, and additional curriculum materials created for the Solar Energy curriculum to gather valuable feedback for further refinement.
☀️ In addition, the partners presented their chapters for the CSP toolkit to test its effectiveness and gather valuable feedback for future improvements.
